Kissell begins her third season as a member of the Gannon women’s soccer coaching staff in 2020. She previously played for the women's soccer team in 2012-15.
In 2019, Kissell helped guide Gannon to an 8-7-2 record with a 7-7-2 finish in PSAC action. The Knights opened the 2019 season with a 1-0 win over Notre Dame in their only non-conference game of the year. Gannon went on to beat Pitt-Johnstown 5-1 at home, while also beating California, Clarion, Mercyhurst, and Edinboro on its home turf.
Kissell helped coach the team's only All-Conference selection, Lindsey Friello, to the PSAC West Second Team.
In 2018, Kissell helped the Knights post a 9-6-2 overall record with an 8-6-2 finish in PSAC play. The Knights opened the season with back-to-back shutouts vs. Clarion and Notre Dame at McConnell Family Stadium. Gannon capped a three-game winning streak to open the year with a 2-1 win at Edinboro.
Kissell helped coach two player, Taylor Lewis and Megan McCartney, to the All-Conference team, and also helped Lewis earn All-Region honors.
The former midfielder was a four-year starter at Gannon from 2012-15. Kissell played in 75 career matches, starting all but one. The Knights won 50 matches during her four-year career, advancing to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament every season and the NCAA Division II Tournament twice. She still ranks seventh all-time at Gannon in assists (12), 13th in points (40) and 16th in goals (14). Kissell is fourth among Lady Knights since 2002 in matches played, fourth in matches started, eighth in assists per match (0.16), 13th in goals per match (0.19), 13th in game-winning goals (3) and 15th in points per match (0.53).
Kissell earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Atlantic Region and All-PSAC second-team honors as a senior after leading the 2015 squad to an 18-3 and No. 1 ranking in NCAA Division II for four consecutive weeks.
The Erie, Pa., native was an all-state first-team selection as a senior at Villa Maria (Pa.) Academy prior to her collegiate career. A four-time all-region first-team honoree and three-time all-district first-team selection, Kissell was named team MVP and Region Player of the Year during her final season. She was also selected Villa Maria Offensive Player of the Year as a freshman, sophomore and junior. Her talent led to school records for goals in a season (41) and goals in a match (6) as a junior. She also set the school record for career goals (112). Kissell helped Villa Maria complete an undefeated season as a sophomore en route to the district and region championships.
Kissell graduated from Gannon in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
