Carly VanTassel

VanTassel begins her second season as an assistant coach on the Gannon women’s lacrosse staff in 2016. The former NCAA lacrosse student-athlete recently concluded a standout career at St. Lawrence (N.Y.) University where she was a four-year letterwinner (2011-14) and three-year starter.

The Adams Center, N.Y., native helped St. Lawrence win 27 matches during her final three seasons, including an appearance in the conference finals during her sophomore campaign. VanTassel played in 50 career matches. The attacker concluded her four-year collegiate career with 36 goals, 38 assists, 84 points and 33 ground balls. Her scoring totals included four game-winning goals.

A multiple Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and All-Liberty League academic selection, VanTassel finished her junior season ranked ninth among conference players in the assists per game (1.06).

VanTassel graduated from St. Lawrence University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Government and Environmental Studies. She is currently on pace to receive a master’s degree in business administration from Gannon University in the spring of 2016.
