Biography

Owczarzak returns as one of Gannon’s starting defenders for the third consecutive season in 2017.

2016: Was one of eight Lady Knights to play all 17 matches … started 13 contests … was part of a defensive unit that contributed to Gannon being ranked sixth among Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) teams in ground balls per match (20.06) … picked up multiple ground balls five times … secured a season-high four ground balls during the regular-season finale against Millersville … had three ground balls during road matches at Lake Erie and Edinboro … caused a season-high two turnovers to go along with two ground balls during a 12-7 victory against Wheeling Jesuit in the home opener.

2015: Played in 13 matches, starting seven … received a starting assignment during her first seven appearances, before coming off the bench in the last six contests … secured a season-best three ground balls during an 18-11 victory at Shippensburg … began the season with two ground balls at Florida Southern … added two ground balls and caused a season-high two turnovers during an 18-7 win against Lake Erie … was part of a Gannon defensive unit that led the PSAC in ground balls per match (22.88) … helped the defense rank fifth among conference teams in caused turnovers per match (8.53), fifth in draw controls per match (12.88), sixth in scoring defense (11.94) and sixth in scoring margin (0.71) … was part of a defensive unit that ranked eighth among all NCAA Division II programs in ground balls per match, 32nd in caused turnovers per match, 40th in draw controls per match, 41st in scoring defense and 41st in scoring margin.

2014: Saw action in five matches as a true freshman … made her collegiate debut during the season opener at St. Leo (Fla.) … picked up her first career ground ball during a 19-5 victory at Young Harris (Ga.) … did not record any offensive statistics while playing mostly on defense.

High School: Played for head coach Linda Mroz at Buffalo (N.Y.) Academy of the Sacred Heart … served as a team captain during her senior season … was a two-sport athlete, earning All-Catholic honors in soccer as a junior … helped Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart win the Monsignor Martin League Championship in both lacrosse and soccer as a senior … was part of a Buffalo Academy of Sacred Heart soccer team that advanced to the state tournament … received the St. Clare and St. Francis awards for her service … was a Perfect Attendance Award recipient all four years.
