Biography

Vargas returns as one of Gannon’s top players in the post. The talented inside-out player enters the season 26th all-time at Gannon in points (805).

Junior Season: Was one of five Lady Knights to play in every game, starting one ... ranked 12th among PSAC players in field goal percentage (.494) and 30th in points per game (11.0) ... was a PSAC Scholar-Athlete ... made lone start at Lake Erie, recording 11 points on 5-of-11 shooting in 34 minutes ... reached double digits in scoring 19 times ... scored at least 20 points three times, including a season-high 21 points at Slippery Rock ... recorded third career double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds at Lock Haven ... added 20 points against Clarion ... scored at least three points and grabbed at least one rebound in every game.

Sophomore Season: Played in 22 games, all starts ... named to the All-GLIAC first team ... earned GLIAC All-Academic honors ... ranked 31st among NCAA Division II players in field goal percentage (53.6) and 75th in points per game (16.2) ... finished fourth among GLIAC players in points per game, ninth in field goal percentage, 13th in rebounds per game (6.0) and 15th in offensive rebounds per game (2.14) ... named GLIAC Player of the Week twice (Dec. 10 & Jan. 2) ... led Gannon in scoring and field goal percentage while ranking second in rebounding and three-point field goal percentage ... recorded 10 points and a season-high 13 rebounds during her first career start in the season opener against West Liberty State ... added a second double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds against Slippery Rock ... scored and grabbed a rebound in every game ... reached double digits in scoring during 18 of 22 games ... scored a season-high 32 points at Wayne State, a feat accomplished 40 times in school history ... reached the 20-point plateau seven times.

Freshman Season: Saw action in 25 games, starting four ... named to the GLIAC All-Academic team ... started four consecutive games in early January ... named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) weekly honor roll after scoring a season-high 14 points in the regular-season finale against Mercyhurst ... was perfect in six field-goal attempts and two three-point attempts against the Lakers ... also reached double digits against Texas A&M International at the Bahamas Sunshine Shoot-out with 11 points ... averaged 15.3 minutes of playing action during the final seven contests, including five post-season games ... recorded nine points and five rebounds against Hillsdale in the GLIAC championship game ... grabbed at least one rebound in every game she played in ... scored first career points during a victory against Central State (Ohio) on December 8.

2005-06 Season: Redshirted.

High School: Played for Mike O’Hara at Broad Run (Ohio) High School ... led Broad Run to the Dulles District regular-season and tournament championships ... advanced to the second round of regional play, completing the season with a school-record 23 victories ... broke the school’s all-time scoring record with 1,290 career points ... named to the Washington Post All-Region honorable-mention team twice ... was a Washington Post All-Extra selection twice ... is a four-time All-District selection, including three consecutive seasons on the first team ... earned All-Region second-team accolades in each of the last two seasons ... averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks during her junior campaign ... led Broad Run to the school’s first-ever District Championship in 2003-04 while shooting 43 percent from the floor and 76 percent from the free throw line ... was a member of the honor roll and National Honor Society.
