Biography

Moran returns as Gannon’s starting second baseman for the fourth consecutive season in 2017 … enters her senior campaign 12th all-time at Gannon since 2000 in assists (186), 17th in home runs (8), 18th in doubles (21), 20th in putouts (267) and 24th in total bases (143).

2016: Was one of only two Lady Knights to play in every game, starting 40 … named a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Scholar-Athlete … received the NCAA Division II Athletics Directors Association (ADA) Academic Achievement Award … earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete honors … batted third 28 times, lead-off seven times, fifth four times and second once … led Gannon in runs (23), doubles (7), home runs (4) and total bases (48) … hit .339 (19-56) with the bases empty and .364 (12-33) with two outs … reached base 33.3 percent (7-21) of the time when leading off an inning … recorded a team-best 10 two-out RBIs … tied for the team lead in multiple-RBI games (4) … finished third among Lady Knights in multiple-hit games (6) … produced a season-high four-game hit streak April 15-19, hitting .462 (6-13) with five runs during the streak … tied the streak with hits during the final four contests of the campaign … posted season-highs in hits (3) and runs (3) with four at-bats during a 7-0 shutout of Fairmont State at the Salem Invitational … recorded a hit during 22 of 41 games … scored multiple runs in a game four times … finished 3-for-9 with three runs, four RBIs, two doubles and one home run during a doubleheader sweep at Mercyhurst … ended the season with 31 consecutive errorless games, spanning 125 fielding opportunities.

2015: Played in 42 games, starting every contest at second base … named a PSAC Scholar-Athlete … received the NCAA Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award … earned NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors … named to the All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) first team … landed a spot on the All-PSAC Western Division second team … earned Academic All-District II first-team honors … ranked fifth among PSAC players in doubles per game (0.29) … led Gannon in fielding percentage (.988) and doubles (12) … finished second on the team in home runs (4), third in runs (33), third in total bases (74), third in slugging percentage (.517), fourth in hits (46) and fifth in average (.322) … hit .375 (3-8) against left-handers, .319 (43-135) against right-handers, .519 (28-54) with the bases empty and .357 (20-56) with two outs … reached base 45.5 percent (10-22) of the time when leading off an inning … drove home a run 46.2 percent (6-13) of the time when hitting with a runner on third base and less than two outs … recorded eight two-out RBIs … had 13 multiple-hit games and four multiple-RBI efforts … named PSAC Western Division Player of the Week on March 9 after hitting .478 during eight contests at the National Training Center (NTC) Games in Clermont, Florida … had two hits during each of the final four games, beginning a team-best 17-game hit streak that lasted until April 15 … produced multiple hits during 10 of those 17 contests … went 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBIs and her first career triple against Clarion … scored a season-high three runs during games against Mercyhurst and Clarion … had a 3-for-4 showing with two runs, one RBI and one home run against West Chester at the PSAC Tournament … hit her first career home run against California (Pa.) … was errorless during her final 39 games, spanning 138 fielding opportunities.
