Jakubowski begins his sixth season as a member of the Gannon coaching staff in 2021, but is no stranger to the Gannon softball program as the brother of retired head coach Tom Jakubowski.
The Erie, Pa., native is a 1977 graduate of Gannon University with an associate degree in accounting. During his time at Gannon, he was a member of the University’s baseball program in 1975.
Jakubowski has been involved in the local sports scene for decades. A 1974 graduate of Cathedral Prep (Pa.) High School, he was a two-sport athlete for the Ramblers in baseball (1971-74) and basketball (1970-72). Jakubowski went on to star in the local softball scene in the Erie Men’s City Rec League (1977-88) and Erie Men’s Industrial League (1978-80).
After spending 30 years at Erie Insurance, Jakubowski retired as the Manager of Governance, Vendor Management and Asset Management. He had also served as the Supervisor of Technology Procurement and as a Buyer during his time at Erie Insurance.
Jakubowski and his wife, Suzanne, are the parents of two sons, Nicholas and Zachary.
