Strub enters his 39th year as a Gannon employee in 2017-18 and has been the facility manager for the Athletics department since the early 1990s. His duties include overseeing the Hammermill Center and McConnell Family Stadium.
The Erie, Pa., native was a longtime assistant coach in the Gannon softball program. Strub had been an assistant under every head coach in the history of the program, serving over 30 years in the program. He posted a 4-10 record during his only season as head coach in 1985.
Strub has a storied softball history, pitching for 34 years in the Millcreek and City Fastpitch Leagues. He has spent the six years with Budweiser, the champions of the City Rec Fastpitch League.
Strub resides in Millcreek. He has two sons, Jonathan and Alan. Jonathan is currently working as an assistant coach for the Clarion women's volleyball team.
