High School: Attended Hudsonville High School, where he competed in water polo and swimming & diving for four years. Earned two varsity letters in water polo under head coach Josh Ahrendt and was a two-year starter, helping Hudsonville capture regional and state championships. Finished with 247 goals, 97 assists, 247 steals, and 75 exclusions drawn. Earned First Team All-State and First Team All-Region honors and was named the Regional Tournament MVP. Also earned two varsity letters in swimming & diving under head coach Ian Kobes.
