Biography

Furno is one of Gannon’s returning players with starting experience in the post … has played in every game (80) the last three seasons, starting 24 … is a very intense and tough competitor … has done tremendous work in the classroom.

2011-12: Was one of six Golden Knights to play in every game … named a PSAC Scholar-Athlete … received the NCAA Division II Athletics Directors Association (ADA) Academic Achievement Award … named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, reserved for junior and senior varsity players with at least one year of residency at their current school and a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the academic year … selected to the Capital One Academic All-District 2 first team … reached double digits in scoring six times, including five consecutive games December 10-January 7 … scored a season-high 17 points and grabbed five rebounds against Daemen during the Gary Miller Classic semifinals, hitting 8-of-10 shots … added 16 points and eight rebounds during a 94-62 victory against Malone in the Porreco Cup semifinals, converting 8-of-11 field goal attempts … shot 50 percent or better during 16 of 26 contests.

2009-10: Saw action in every game, starting eight … was a PSAC Scholar-Athlete … led the team in field goal percentage, hitting 56.7 percent (55-97) of his shots … was Gannon’s fifth-leading scorer (5.1) … named PSAC Western Division Freshman of the Year … selected PSAC Western Division Freshman of the Week five times, including three consecutive weeks from February 15 through March 1 … exploded for 27 points at Slippery Rock after scoring 22 points during the first 14 contests … went 12-of-15 from the field against the Rock … reached double digits in scoring six times, including five times during the final eight games … recorded 18 points and eight rebounds against Mercyhurst … converted 7-of-11 attempts against the Lakers … shot at least 50 percent during 12 of the 15 games he scored in.
