Biography

Piotrowicz is Gannon’s returning starter at point guard … is one of Gannon’s toughest players … makes solid decisions with the ball … is a team player … considered hard-nosed, blue-collar and committed … described as a winner by head coach John T. Reilly ... transferred to Gannon from Penn State Behrend prior to the 2009-10 season … has played in 53 of Gannon’s 54 games the last two seasons, starting 28.

2010-11: Played in 25 games, all starts … named a PSAC Scholar-Athlete … received the Division II Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Award … named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, reserved for junior and senior varsity players with at least one year of residency at their current school and a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the academic year … ranked sixth among PSAC players in three-point field goal percentage (42.5) … led the team in three-point field goal percentage and assists (68) … finished second on the squad in three-pointers (31) and steals (21) … began the season by reaching double digits in three of the first five games and five of the first 10 … exploded for a season-high 18 points during an 85-72 victory at Shippensburg … added 15 points during an 88-68 win at Lock Haven …  reached double digits in scoring seven times … pulled down a season-high 10 rebounds during a 70-43 home victory against Lock Haven … dished out an assist in 24 of 25 games … recorded 10 points, seven rebounds and a season-high four steals during a 79-68 victory against Northern Michigan in the Gary Miller Classic championship game … had more turnovers than assists in a game only two times.

2009-10: Saw action in every game, starting three … was a PSAC Scholar-Athlete … averaged five points and 2.6 rebounds while playing 21.1 minutes per game … finished second on the team in free throw percentage (.795) … started the last three games, playing all 40 minutes during each start … reached double digits in scoring six times during the last nine contests, including each of the last four … netted a season-high 18 points during a victory against Lock Haven in the regular-season finale … went 6-of-11 from the field against Lock Haven, including a 3-of-6 clip from three-point range … scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds during a PSAC quarterfinal game at IUP … recorded 10 points and a season-high seven rebounds against Lake Erie … dished out five assists five times … shot 47 percent (8-17) from three-point range during the final four contests … averaged 10.9 points and 3.7 rebounds during the last nine games.

At Penn State Behrend: Played in 28 games as a true freshman for the Lions, starting 18 ... averaged 5.2 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists while helping the Lions to an 18-10 overall record and 13-5 conference mark ... shot 76.1 percent (35-46) from the free throw line and hit 25 three-pointers ... reached double digits in scoring four times, including a season-high 18 points at Fredonia State.

High School: Played for Brian Flanagan at Cathedral Prep (Pa.) High School ... was a two-time all-region selection, being named to the first team as a senior.
