Chris Viscuso

Viscuso begins his 14th season as an assistant coach and Gannon’s Director of Performance Enhancement in 2018-19. In addition to working with the guards, he oversees all strength and conditioning drills for the Golden Knights. He is also an integral part of Gannon’s recruiting and scouting efforts.

The Erie, Pa., native has a long coaching relationship with Gannon head coach John T. Reilly, serving as his top assistant coach and Director of Performance Enhancement for 10 years at Brescia (Ky.) University. Other responsibilities at Brescia included on-floor coaching and the development of the guards.

Viscuso is in his 24th season as an assistant under Reilly and brings 26 years of collegiate coaching experience to the Gannon bench. Prior to his arrival at Gannon, Viscuso was the Strength and Conditioning coach at Penn State Behrend for two seasons. Upon graduating from Penn State Behrend in 1992, he served as a Nittany Lions assistant for two seasons under Fred Paulsen.

Viscuso began his basketball career as a standout player at Mercyhurst Prep (Pa.) High School, where he played for Ed Zenewicz. In addition to playing in the City-Country All-Star Game, he earned All-Metro honorable-mention accolades as a senior. He later continued his playing career at Penn State Behrend.
