Matlak enters his 10th season as the Head Athletic Trainer at Gannon University in 2015-16. Matlak and his Athletic Training Staff are responsible for the health and safety of over 500 student-athletes encompassing 20 sports. Matlak’s primary team coverage includes football in the fall, women’s basketball in the winter and spring football.
Matlak graduated with an undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine with a concentration in Athletic Training from Mercyhurst College in 1999. He earned his Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from Cailfornia (Pa.) in 2000.
Prior to arriving at Gannon University, Matlak served as Head Athletic Trainer at Mercyhurst College-North East from 2000-2003. He then moved to the Main Campus of Mercyhurst College to work as an Assistant Athletic Trainer from 2003-2006.
Todd has been a lifelong resident of Erie and now resides in Millcreek with his wife, Heather, and daughters, Hayley (10) and Madison (5).
