Aaron Shaw

Shaw begins his third season as a member of the Gannon coaching staff in 2015. He will once again tutor the tight ends.

Shaw brings over 22 years of track and field, football and soccer coaching experience at the collegiate and high school levels. Prior to his coaching stay at Gannon, Shaw served as the head football coach at Northwestern (Pa.) High School for three seasons (2008-10). He also spent time as an assistant coach at West Orange (Fla.) High School (2006-08) and North East (Pa.) High School (2004-05).

The former collegiate tight end was a three-year letterwinner (1988-91) at Duke (N.C.) University. Shaw caught 67 passes for 729 yards and five touchdowns during his NCAA Division I career. He hauled in a career-best 35 passes for 383 yards as a junior and another 28 receptions for 322 yards as a senior. The Blue Devils shared the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) title with Virginia during Shaw’s first season in 1989. After graduation, he coached three seasons (1993-95) at the NCAA Division II level for Mercyhurst (Pa.) University.

Shaw earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Duke in 1992 and his master’s degree in Education from the University of Phoenix in 2007. He resides in Girard, Pennsylvania with his wife Gail and their four children Justin (32), Taylor (21), Cassidy (18) and James (14).
