Rebekka Brown is entering her first season as an assistant coach with the Gannon competitive cheer and dance program in 2020-21.
Brown comes to Gannon after spending the past year as head coach of the Ithaca College cheer program, where she prepared the team for competitions and showcases, as well as performance at football and basketball games.
A four-year member of the competitive cheer team at Elmira College, Brown helped lead the Soaring Eagles to four consecutive top-four finishes in the All-Girl division at the NCA Collegiate Cheer Championships, including three third-place finishes.
Her first taste of coaching came while she was an undergrad as well, helping lead clinics for high school and recreational cheer teams. She also spent three years with Inspire Cheer in Elmira, working with teams and individuals on tumbling, stunting and routines.
A native of Horseheads, New York, Brown graduated from Elmira in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in human services.
