AT INDIANA STATE: Played the last two seasons at Division I Indiana Stat for head coach Josh Schertz, appearing in 61 games … helped the Sycamores to a 23-13 finish in 2022-23, reaching the semifinals of the Missouri Valley Conference before losing to top-seed Bradley 71-70 … they then participated in the CBI (College Basketball Invitational), posting a 67-62 win over USC Upstate in the first round before losing to Eastern Kentucky 89-88 in the quarterfinals … played in 31 games with one start, averaging just under ten minutes per game … averaged 2.5 ppg. and 1.1 rpg. with seven assists, six steals and a block … shot 37.1 percent from the floor (26-of-70), including 24-of-68 3-pointers (35.3 percent), and was 2-of-3 from the line … scored a season-high 14 points, making 4-of-5 from 3-pointers, against Northern Iowa in meeting number two and had a high of six rebounds vs. UNI in the first meeting … played in 30 games with 10 starts in his first season at Indiana State in 2021-22 … averaged 6.3 ppg. and 2.6 rpg. while playing just under 21 minutes per game … was a 3-point specialist for the Sycamores, with 122 of his 154 total attempts from beyond the arc … made 45 3-pointers, good for 36.9 percent, while shooting 42.9 percent overall (66-of-154) and was 12-of-19 at the line (63.2 percent) … added 11 assists, six blocked shots and 17 steals … reached double figures in nine games in 2021-22, with a career-high 23 points against Midway, making made 5-of-9 3-pointers and pulling down seven rebounds … also made five 3-pointers in 11 attempts in the regular season finale vs. Illinois State, ending with 15 points … pulled down a career-high nine rebounds vs. Bradley while scoring 14 points.
AT DES MOINES AREA CC: Helped Des Moines Area Community College to the 2021 NJCAA Division II National Championship, playing in 26 games, with 25 starts, for the Bears and averaging 12.3 points per game, along with 5.3 rebounds, two assists and 0.8 steals per game … shot 44.8 percent from the field and 44.1 percent from behind the arc … scored in double-digits in 18 games with a season-high 26 points coming in the NJCAA Tournament against Mott … scored in double figures in all four games of DMACC's championship run and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
AT MONTANA STATE: Began his career at Division I Montana State in 2019-20 … appeared in 10 games, scoring 17 points and grabbing 13 rebounds … connected on two 3-pointers and scored his first career points against Rocky Mountain, finishing with eight points.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a standout at Mesa (Ariz.) High School for head coach Shane Burcar, graduating in 2019 … put together a standout senior campaign which included being named by the Arizona Interscholastic Association to its All-Conference First Team, which recognizes the top players in the largest class of schools in Arizona … led the Jackrabbits to a state tournament appearance while leading the team in multiple statistical categories as a senior … averaged 17.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game during the 2018-19 season … was named the 6A East Valley Region Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year … was also tabbed an honorable mention by the Arizona Republic for its Boys' Basketball Player of the Year award … was an All-Region First Team selection three times while breaking the school's all-time career record in 3-pointers with 215 and shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc … was a member of the 2015-16 Mesa team that went 26-4 and won the Division I state championship.
PERSONAL: Received his bachelor's degree in Business Management from Indiana State and is now working on his MBA … son of Julie and Darren Hobbs.
