RE: Athletic Training Services
Gannon University will be hosting the NCAA Division II Super Regional One Wrestling Tournament on February 25 and February 26. Our athletic training room is equipped with ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat and ice. We will have our main athletic training room open periodically throughout the tournament. We will set up a satellite athletic training room right off of the mats for easier/instant access for wrestlers and traveling athletic trainers with heat, ice and treatment tables.
If your team does not have a Certified Athletic Trainer traveling with them, please let us know ahead of time and send a detailed letter with the treatment specifications for your athletes. Athletes must have a letter from their athletic training staff with parameters for modalities or they will not receive treatment. Any wrestler being treated by a physician for a skin infection will require the NCAA skin evaluation and participation status form. We will follow the NCAA Wrestling Rules and Interpretations Handbook for all skin infection cases. We will have both an orthopedic physician as well as an ambulance crew on site for both days of competition.
The athletic training room(s) will be open two hours before competition, and will close shortly after all matches have ended at the end of each day. Skin checks will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, and 8:45 a.m. Saturday. We will have a dermatologist on site for skin checks
ONLY both days. Weigh-ins will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, and 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
One or more of the following individuals will be on site during days of competition:
