Gannon University is excited to be hosting the NCAA Division II Super Region I Wrestling Tournament for the first time in school history February 25-26, 2011.
Our sports information office hopes to do the best it can to accommodate you, your media, your fans and your teams throughout the weekend. A tournament headquarter can be found on our Web site at
http://www.gannonsports.com/sports/2011/1/18/WREST_0118110402.aspx. This will be the best place to obtain any information you need in regards to the tournament, including updated results throughout the weekend.
In addition to e-mailing results throughout the weekend, tournament brackets and tournament results will be posted after each of the three sessions on that Web site. The opening-round brackets will be posted following a seeding meeting on Thursday, February 24 at approximately 9 p.m. Please note that if a wrestler does not make weight or pass a skin check Friday morning, the brackets will need to be updated. There is also some pre-tournament information, travel information and a listing of restaurants and hotels in the area on that site. We ask that you direct your fans, media, etc. to the site for all information pertinent to the event.
There will be credentials for any sports information directors or media attending this year’s event. If you or any of your media plans to attend, please let me know by Friday, February 11 so credentials can be produced.
Also, please e-mail Gannon Director of Athletics Media Relations Dan Teliski (
teliski002@gannon.edu) your team’s probable starters no later than February 24. We know some teams might still have a change or two, but we would like to have every team and all the wrestlers entered into the computer. We will still be able to update a roster if there are changes, but we need to have the majority of it completed in advance.
