2008 Fall A Team - Greg Nelson

Membership in the Golden Knight’s “A” Team represents the very best in intercollegiate athletics. Thirty-three students have qualified by achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA during the most recently completed semester. Gannon’s 347 student-athletes earned a cumulative GPA of 3.22 this past fall semester.

Gregory Nelson, a freshman Sports Management and Marketing major, joins the “A” team after achieving a 4.0 GPA for the fall 2008 semester. He is a member of both the water polo, and the men’s swimming team. During the 2008-2009 season, he was awarded Co-freshman player of the year for Water Polo. He is hoping to start for the water polo team next fall and make it to nationals for the swim team.

“I love playing sports on the collegiate level because it provides a new challenge every year and provides a group of friends I will have for a lifetime,” said Nelson. “My personal goals for our Water Polo team is to hopefully help our team to an Eastern Championship bid if not an Eastern Championship title.

Nelson hopes to someday work in Major League Baseball, particularly for the Chicago Cubs, because he loves baseball and the Cubs and would love to be involved with their team.
