2008 Fall A Team - Daniel Bauer
Membership in the Golden Knight’s “A” Team represents the very best in intercollegiate athletics. Thirty-three students have qualified by achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA during the most recently completed semester. Gannon’s 347 student-athletes earned a cumulative GPA of 3.22 this past fall semester.
Daniel Bauer, a freshman pre-med student, is added to the “A” team after earning a 4.0 GPA during his first semester at Gannon. Bauer is a member of the men’s cross country team, and hopes to someday become a Pulmonologist.
“After graduating from Gannon, I would like to attend medical school in hopes of becoming a Pulmonologist,” Bauer said. “During the summer and breaks throughout the school year, I work for a local doctor who happens to be my neighbor and a very good friend of my family. He owns his own Pulmonology clinic and after job shadowing him for many months I decided that I want to also become a lung specialist. He has been a very big mentor in my life and I appreciate everything he has done for me in influencing my career decisions.”
Bauer also credits playing a college sport for his good work ethic.
“Running cross country has always taught me how to manage my time efficiently and about how to work hard at something that I want to excel at. Now at college with classes being as hard as they are, I manage my time in a way that it allows me to still workout and still get the grades that I am striving for in school. I give most of the credit to cross country for giving me a good work ethic. I hope by next year that I will be able to run every race for the team and become the leader that the male cross country team is needing.”
