2008 Fall A Team - Loek Masthoff
Membership in the Golden Knight’s “A” Team represents the very best in intercollegiate athletics. Thirty-three students have qualified by achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA during the most recently completed semester. Gannon’s 347 student-athletes earned a cumulative GPA of 3.22 this past fall semester.
Loek Masthoff, a junior Chemistry major from Nieuwstadt, Netherlands is added to the “A” team by earning a 4.0 GPA for the fall semester. Masthoff is a member of the men’s soccer team, and has been named to the All PSAC first team, and the All Atlantic Region second team.
“Playing sports at the college level is fun because you get to see other places and you get recognition from the university and other students,” Masthoof said. “My personal goal for soccer is to enjoy the game as long and as much as possible.”
Masthoff is not exactly sure what he wants to do with his chemistry degree, but he does plan on attending graduate school and getting a master’s degree.
“I chose chemistry because I am interested in how things really work. I think chemistry is applicable to a lot of things around us,” Mastoff said.
