Heather Petras became just the second Gannon University volleyball player to have her uniform retired, the ceremonies taking place at her final home contest on November 1, 1995. Much like Wotus as a hitter, Petras, who wore number 12 during her playing days, has set the standard to which all Gannon setters will be compared in the future.
A Lady Knight from 1992-95, Petras departed as the record holder in career assists (3,426) and tied Wotus for second place in career digs with 1,293. She has since dropped to second in career assists and fourth in career digs. Her career killing percentage of .300 stands sixth and with 1,145 career kills, she ranks eighth in that category. Petras is eighth in career block solos with 117. Among the season charts, her 1,003 assists in 1993 equals the eighth-highest single-season total in school history.
Petras joins Wotus as the lone Lady Knights to earn American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America status, finding a spot on the second team in 1994. She was a first-team GTE Academic All-American in 1995 and was also a first-team All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection. Petras was an accounting major.
