2008 Spring A Team - Kyle Goldcamp
Membership in the Golden Knight’s “A” Team represents the very best in intercollegiate athletics. Thirty-four students have qualified by achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA during the most recent completed semester. Gannon’s 341 student-athletes earned a cumulative GPA of 3.22 this past spring semester.
Kyle Goldcamp will start his second season at Gannon this year after spending two years playing at NCAA Division II Pitt-Johnstown. At 6’10”, the biology major makes his presence known on and off the court. During the 2007-2008 season, Goldcamp started every game and scored an average of 15.2 points per game, making him Gannon’s second top scorer.
”I like playing sports at the college level because the competition and intensity are always high. The personal goals I have for my team this year is for us to win the PSAC and make it to the NCAA Division II tournament.”
Although he’s not sure exactly what he wants to do for a career, he knows he wants to do something with biology.
“I choose biology because I always enjoyed the sciences as well as learning how the body responds and functions to different things, says Goldcamp.”
When he’s not on the court or in the classroom, Goldcamp spends his time being a leader in the faith-sharing group called The Zone, and is a member of another faith sharing club called ICTHI.
This summer, Goldcamp worked at a restaurant, attended the Pete Newell Big Man Camp in Las Vegas, Nevada, and played basketball in the Pittsburgh Pro-Am League.
