2008 Spring A Team - Noelle Schad
Membership in the Golden Knight’s “A” Team represents the very best in intercollegiate athletics. Thirty-four students have qualified by achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA during the most recent completed semester. Gannon’s 341 student-athletes earned a cumulative GPA of 3.22 this past spring semester.
Noelle Schad, a criminal justice major and co-captain of the volleyball team, graduated Magna Cum Laude this part spring with bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, with minors in Juvenile Justice and Forensic Investigation. During her time at Gannon, Schad earned numerous awards and honors, including the GU Volleyball GPA award, being inducted into the Criminal Justice League of Scholars, and was named to the GLIAC All-American Team for three consecutive years. She obtained over 700 digs during her GU volleyball career, and was recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association for outstanding academic achievements during volleyball season.
“The higher level of competition always made things extremely exciting. I loved the fast paced action and the drive of each team to perform to their best,” said Schad. “My personal goals were to try to at least obtain a double-double each game (if possible) and to make my parents proud of my performance since they have been there for me from the very beginning though all the ups and downs that came along the way.”
During her time at Gannon, she was also involved in Alpha Phi Sigma, a Criminal Justice honor society, Phi Eta Sigma, SAAC, Kappa Gamma Pi, a national Catholic college graduate honor society, and was a former coach of the Gannon's Men’s Club Volleyball Team.
Schad has recently an accepted an assistant coaching job with the women’s volleyball team at Chatham University. She is currently searching for a job in the criminal justice field, and hopes o get a job with the Pennsylvania State Police, county policing or something on the Federal level.
