2008 Spring A Team - Ashley Tubbs

Membership in the Golden Knight’s “A” Team represents the very best in intercollegiate athletics. Thirty-four students have qualified by achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA during the most recent completed semester. Gannon’s 341 student-athletes earned a cumulative GPA of 3.22 this past spring semester.

Ashley Tubbs was an integral part of Gannon’s Lady Knights Volleyball team for the 2007 season and was selected as a member of the GLIAC’s All Conference Honorable Mention team. She hopes to be selected for the PSAC’s All Conference First Team for the 2008 season. Playing volleyball at the collegiate level inspires Tubbs to be a better player.

“I like the pace. Volleyball is a much faster game at this level,” Tubbs said. “Also, I like that I am surrounded by so many great players. It makes me work so much harder because I want to be one of the best.”

In addition to excelling on the volleyball court, Tubbs also excels in the classroom. As a senior psychology major, Tubbs is hoping to continue with school to receive her master’s degree, and become either a Guidance Counselor or a Career Counselor. Currently, she is the treasurer of Psi Chi, a psychology honor society, and a member of Phi Eta Sigma, a freshman honor society.

Tubbs, a Meadville High School graduate, spent the summer working as a nanny for three young children in addition to help coach Gannon’s volleyball camp.
