2008 Spring A Team - Igor Makovey
Membership in the Golden Knight’s “A” Team represents the very best in intercollegiate athletics. Thirty-four students have qualified by achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA during the most recent completed semester. Gannon’s 341 student-athletes earned a cumulative GPA of 3.22 this past spring semester.
Igor Makovey was an integral member of Gannon’s Swim team serving as captain his senior year. The distance swimmer is a member of the 800 freestyle relay team that currently hold the school record, and he was named most valuable freshman by his teammates.
“Swimming at the college level gave me an opportunity to compete, helped me with time management and most importantly let me be a captain of the best swim team in history of Gannon University.”
He graduated in Spring 2008 and will be attending the University of Michigan School of Dentistry this fall to study to become a dentist. During his time at Gannon he was a member of Tri-Beta, a biology honor society, as well a member of the chemistry honor society. He was also named to the Dean’s List every semester at Gannon.
Makovey spent the summer life guarding at Ocean City Maryland, and getting ready to continue his education dental school.
