2008 Spring A Team - Stephanie Komorek
Membership in the Golden Knight’s “A” Team represents the very best in intercollegiate athletics. Thirty-four students have qualified by achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA during the most recent completed semester. Gannon’s 341 student-athletes earned a cumulative GPA of 3.22 this past spring semester.
Stephanie Komorek was the top goalie for women’s water polo this year with 118 saves. The freshman was also one of the twelve water polo players to be named Academic All-Americans. When asked what she likes about playing water polo at the college level, Komorek responded, “It is exciting to see the competition and level of talent of athletes at the college level and an honor to be a part of it.”
Komorek plans to become an elementary school teacher upon graduation. She choose to become a teacher because she enjoys working with children and enjoys the satisfaction when they achieve new things.
Komorek got lots of practice working with children this summer when she lifeguarded and taught swimming lessons at McDowell High School in Erie.
