2008 Spring A Team - Mindy Klavon

Membership in the Golden Knight’s “A” Team represents the very best in intercollegiate athletics. Thirty-four students have qualified by achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA during the most recent completed semester. Gannon’s 341 student-athletes earned a cumulative GPA of 3.22 this past spring semester.

Melinda Klavon finished up her last season with Gannon Cross Country this past year. She graduated in the spring 2008 with a bachelor in Elementary Education, and was named to the GLIAC All-Academic team.

“I love the friendships you make with a sport that has a smaller team like cross country,” said Klavon. “ I also love the challenge to continue to improve, and the weekend traveling.”

She spent the summer working at Kindercare, in Erie, and has accepted a teaching position at Poplar Tree Elementary in Chantilly, VA.

“I have always wanted to teach, and this school turned out to be the best fit for me,” said Klavon.

In addition to being dedicated to athletics and academics, Klavon was also involved with Kappa Delta Pi, an education sorority, and GUSEC (Gannon University’s Society for Exceptional Children).
