Thornton transferred to NCAA Division I Marquette following the 2018 season.

High School: Played for head coach Andrew Rawlin at Wickersley School and Sports College in Rotherham, England … named Football Performer of the Year at Wickersley School and Sports College three times between 2009-15 … was a Year 7 Rotherham Schools Football Association winner … received the John Melbourne Memorial Sportsmanship Award … earned the Commitment and Attitude Soccer Award  … was a member of the Gifted and Talented Team in Sport through Wickersley School and Sports College … received awards for endeavor, perfect attendance and aspirational attitude towards school and school work … was a recipient of a certificate for effort, ranking No. 1 four consecutive years (2014-17).
