ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon volleyball team opened Alumni Weekend in dominant fashion Friday evening, sweeping California (Pa.) 25-10, 25-17, 25-18 in PSAC West action at the Highmark Events Center.
The Golden Knights (12-2, 2-0 PSAC) extended their winning streak to 11 matches behind a balanced offensive performance that featured three players with double-digit kills.
Abbey Williams (Chicago, Ill./Mother Mcauley Liberal Arts) led the way with a match-high 17 kills and 12 digs, while
Sydney Wake (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson) delivered 11 kills without an attack error.
Gannon finished with a .328 hitting percentage and held the Vulcans (6-8, 0-2 PSAC) to a .108 clip. The Golden Knights also held a commanding 55-22 advantage in kills to remain unbeaten in conference play.
