ERIE, Pa. – Gannon senior forward Rafa Hyde (São José dos Campos, Brazil/Objetivo Aquarius) has been named the PSAC West Athlete of the Week, becoming the first member of the Gannon men's soccer team to earn a PSAC weekly award this season.

Hyde started both matches for Gannon, finishing the week with one goal and one assist for three points. He logged 143 minutes while recording six shots, including three on goal.

Hyde played a key role in Gannon's 5-2 victory over East Stroudsburg on Sunday at McConnell Family Stadium, contributing a goal and an assist as the Golden Knights picked up their first victory of the 2026 season.

Gannon finished the opening week with a 1-1 record after opening the season against Lake Erie on Thursday before bouncing back with the victory over East Stroudsburg.

Hyde and the Golden Knights return to action on Friday, Sept. 4, traveling to Ashland for a 6:30 p.m. match.
