ERIE, Pa. – Gannon University men's and women's cross country head coach
Rob Ahrens has announced his teams' 2026 schedule.
The Golden Knights will compete in five regular-season meets before turning their attention to the PSAC Championships, NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championships and NCAA Division II National Championships.
"2026 is going to be a unique and exciting season for us," Ahrens said. "As the final festival year in Division II, we're excited to take full advantage of this opportunity. The extra two weeks in our season allow us to space out our competitions, focus on quality training, and put ourselves in the best position to perform at a high level when it matters most. I'm confident that approach will lead to some exciting performances this fall. I can't wait to get started!"
The 2026 campaign begins on Sept. 5 at the Doug Watts Open in Edinboro, Pa., before the Golden Knights travel to Rochester, N.Y., for the Harry F. Anderson Invitational on Sept. 26.
On Oct. 10, Gannon will split its squads between the Lewis Crossover in Romeoville, Ill., and the Highlander Invitational in Houghton, N.Y., allowing the coaching staff to provide quality competition opportunities across the roster. The Golden Knights close the regular season on Oct. 24 at the Go Fast River Run in Lock Haven, Pa.
The postseason begins Nov. 7 at the PSAC Cross Country Championships in Bloomsburg, Pa. Gannon will then compete at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championships on Nov. 21 in Kernersville, N.C., before concluding the season at the NCAA Division II National Championships on Dec. 4 at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan.
