EDINBORO, Pa. — The Golden Knights women's lacrosse team earned a hard-fought 11-8 victory over Edinboro on Wednesday afternoon, completing the season sweep of the Fighting Scots.

Edinboro jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before the Golden Knights responded with three straight goals from Morgan Allardi (Roanoke, Va./Cave Spring), Rayla Smith (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum), and Alyssa Lerch (Coraopolis, Pa./Moon Area) to take a 3-2 advantage.

The Fighting Scots answered late in the first quarter and carried momentum into halftime, taking a 6-5 lead into the break.

After Edinboro extended its lead to 7-5 early in the third, the Golden Knights responded with a key stretch, scoring three straight goals to regain the lead.
