ERIE, Pa. — Gannon used a pair of multi-run innings and timely hitting to defeat Walsh, 8-6, on Tuesday afternoon at McConnell Family Stadium in non-conference action.

Gannon erased an early deficit with a three-run second inning, added insurance with a two-run fourth and sixth, and held off a late push from Walsh to secure the win. It's the 20th victory of the season for the Golden Knights.

THE KNIGHT CAP

  • Adding On: Tommy Koroly (Mars, Pa./North Catholic) drove in a run in the third to extend the lead before Matt Smith (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area) launched a two-run home run in the fourth to make it 6-2.
  • Insurance in the Sixth: Gannon responded immediately as Nick Walker (McKees Rocks, Pa./Montour) delivered a two-run double down the left field line to push the advantage to 8-5.
  • Balanced Offense: Gannon finished with 8 runs on 10 hits, while drawing seven walks to create scoring opportunities.
  • Top Performers: Matt Smith (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area) totaled two RBIs with a home run, while Nick Walker (McKees Rocks, Pa./Montour) added two doubles and two RBIs.
