No. 5 Golden Knights Beat IUP For Third Time, Advance to PSAC Title Game

ERIE, Pa. – The No. 5 Gannon men's basketball team advanced to the PSAC Championship game with a 99–85 victory over Indiana (Pa.) Saturday evening inside the Highmark Events Center.

The Golden Knights improved to 28–2 overall with the win and will now play for the PSAC title on Sunday against western division foe California (PA).

Gannon used a strong first half to take control of the contest, building a 43–34 lead at the break. The Golden Knights continued to push the tempo in the second half, scoring 56 points over the final 20 minutes to pull away from the Crimson Hawks.

Lucas Morgan (Sydney, Australia/Marist Catholic College North Shore) led the Golden Knights with 19 points while grabbing five rebounds. Pace Prosser (Berlin, Pa./Berlin Brothersvalley) added 18 points and seven rebounds and reached 1,000 points for his career, while Precious Idiaru (Speyer, Germany/LA Premier Prep) finished with 18 points and eight rebounds.

Lucas Sekasi (Washington, DC/Jackson-Reed) provided a strong effort off the bench with 16 points and six rebounds, and Jaden Calloway (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Hartley) added nine points to help power Gannon's balanced attack.

The Golden Knights finished the night shooting 46.6 percent from the field and converted 36-of-45 free throws while forcing Indiana (Pa.) into 13 turnovers.

Morgan Leads the Way: Lucas Morgan (Sydney, Australia/Marist Catholic College North Shore) paced the Golden Knights with 19 points, going 7-11 from the field. 
Mr. 1000: Three Gannon players finished with 18+ points, including Pace Prosser (Berlin, Pa./Berlin Brothersvalley). The sophomore eclipsed 1,000 career points in just his sophomore season with a pair of free throws late in the first half. He is the third Gannon player to get to 1,000 this season (Victor Desmond (Onalaska, Wisc./Onalaska), Lucas Morgan (Sydney, Australia/Marist Catholic College North Shore)).
Bench Production: Lucas Sekasi (Washington, DC/Jackson-Reed) scored 16 points off the bench, going 10-13 from the charity stripe. 
Attacking the Rim: Gannon went 36-for-45 at the free throw line.
Fast Break Success: The Golden Knights scored 34 fast-break points and 22 points off turnovers. 
Championship Bound: Gannon advances to the PSAC Championship game with the victory, their third straight. The Golden Knights have won the past two PSAC Championships.
