INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA today released its second set of Division II men's basketball rankings, but the initial one ranks the teams. Last week's first set of rankings was in alphabetical order.
Gannon sits atop the Atlantic Region poll with two games remaining in the regular season.
The Golden Knights have run off 11 straight wins and are at 24-2 with games remaining at Clarion on Wednesday and Indiana (Pa.) on Saturday.
Gannon seeks its third straight Atlantic Regional appearance and looks to host the regional for the second time in three years.
West Liberty, the reigning Atlantic Regional champion and last year's host, is second in the poll. The Hilltoppers are 23-3.
Another Mountain East Conference, Fairmont State, is third at 21-4, while Indiana (Pa.) is fourth (19-4). Virginia Union (21-4), the top team out of the CIAA, rounds out the top five.
The second five features three more PSAC squads. California (Pa.) (18-7) is sixth, with West Chester (19-6) eighth, and East Stroudsburg (19-7) tenth. Fayetteville State (20-6), a member of the CIAA, is seventh, and MEC member Charleston (WV) (17-8) holds down the ninth spot. (NOTE: records are vs. Division 2 institutions)
The NCAA will release its third set of rankings next Wednesday, March 4, and the 64-team field for the 2026 NCAA Division II Tournament will be announced on Sunday, March 8.
