ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon men's soccer team continues to hold a strong position in the NCAA postseason picture, ranking No. 5 in Super Region 1 and No. 27 nationally in the latest NCAA Division II National Power Index (NPI) rankings released Monday.

The Golden Knights, who own an 11-2-3 overall record against Division II opponents, earned an NPI rating of 56.157. Gannon is the highest-ranked Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) program in both the national and Super Region 1 standings, continuing to establish itself among the region's top postseason contenders.

Gannon's standing comes after the Golden Knights secured their fourth consecutive PSAC West regular-season championship, having claimed the division title in 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. Head coach Billy Colton's squad owns a 7-1-1 record in PSAC West action and secured the division's No. 1 seed in the upcoming PSAC Tournament with a 2-0 victory at Seton Hill on Saturday, Oct. 24. The victory also marked a bounce-back performance following Gannon's first conference loss of the season.

Charleston (W.Va.) leads Super Region 1 at No. 5 nationally with an NPI rating of 60.853, followed by Davis & Elkins at No. 7, Southern New Hampshire at No. 14 and Concord at No. 20. Gannon rounds out the region's top five, while fellow PSAC members Millersville (No. 35 nationally) and Shepherd (No. 39) occupy the sixth and seventh positions.

Gannon concludes the regular season on Thursday, Oct. 29, against Lock Haven before turning its attention to postseason play. The Golden Knights, who have already secured the PSAC West regular-season championship and the division's No. 1 seed, will host a PSAC Tournament quarterfinal match on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m.

The NCAA National Power Index is a numerical rating system used to evaluate Division II men's soccer teams for postseason selection. The NPI considers match results and opponent quality to help assess programs across the country. The NPI standings are separate from the NCAA's official regional rankings.
