LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Gannon volleyball's Alexis Fowler (Cranberry Township, PA/Eden Christian Academy) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West Defensive Athlete of the Week following her performance in the Golden Knights' three-set sweep of Edinboro, the conference announced Monday.

The honor marks the fourth PSAC weekly accolade for the Golden Knights this season, with Fowler becoming the third different Gannon player to receive a conference weekly award.

Fowler, a 5-foot-4 sophomore defensive specialist from Cranberry Township, Pa., anchored Gannon's defensive effort on Thursday, Oct. 15, recording a match-high 20 digs while averaging 6.67 digs per set. The Eden Christian Academy product also finished with no reception errors on six attempts, adding two service aces and two assists.

The Golden Knights held Edinboro to a .000 hitting percentage, allowing just 26 kills while forcing 26 attack errors on 130 attempts in the 25-16, 25-13, 25-20 victory.

Gannon returns to action Friday, Oct. 23, when the Golden Knights travel to California (Pa.) for a PSAC West matchup beginning at 6 p.m.
