Second Quarter Surge Fuels No. 8 Women’s Basketball to 20th Win

The No. 8 Gannon women's basketball team used a dominant second quarter and a balanced effort on both ends of the floor to earn a 72-51 PSAC West victory over Slippery Rock Saturday afternoon at Morrow Field House.

After a tight opening quarter, the Golden Knights seized control before halftime. Gannon shot 10-for-16 from the field in the second quarter to create separation before halftime, turning a four-point game into a commanding lead. 

The Golden Knights improved to 20-2 overall and 12-1 in PSAC play with the win. The victory also marked Gannon's 11th straight win over Slippery Rock in the series and improved the all-time record to 48-12.
