FAIRMONT, WV - In a battle of two top-ten teams, Gannon dropped their second contest of the season in a 246.785-239.395 defeat to Fairmont State. The Golden Knights dropped to 2-2 on the season, and will prepare to travel to Augustana on March 3rd.
Compulsory Event
The Golden Knights were edged, 36.550-35.050. GU finished with a strong Pyramid (9.450) and Toss (9.150) heats.
Acro Event
In the 5 Element heat, GU posted an 8.850, their strongest head of the event. Fairmont State won the overall event, 27.100-24.850
Pyramid Event
In an impressive performance, Gannon took the Pyramid event, 27.150-26.000. A score of 9.550 from the Open event was enough to trim the overall deficit heading into the Toss event.
Toss Event
Another close event saw the Golden Knights be edged by just over a half a point. 450 Salto (9.200) was the teams strongest heat of the event.
Tumbling Event
An overall score of 48.175 wasn't enough to edge the home team in the final event before team. GU tallied a 9.125 in the 6 Element Pass.
Team Event
Fairmont State notched an 80.410-78.220 win in the team event to take the overall meet, 246.785-239.395.
