The Gannon Women's Water Polo team dropped two hard fought contests to VMI & St. Francis (PA) at the VMI Invite on Saturday.
In game one against the Keydets,
Brigid Carmody (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) got the scoring started early in the first.
Molly Fehr (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria) then leveled the game 2-2 after VMI notched two tallies. Carmody tied the game at three after the first in her second goal of the period.
Carissa Jones (Allison Park, Pa./North Allegheny) earned the lone GU goal of the second and

Game two saw an aggressive approach on offense to open the game. Fehr scored two times in the opening period and Strickland sandwiched in her goal between the two tallies, and the Golden Knights led 3-2 late in the first. St. Francis took control from there, as Jones earned her second goal of the weekend with 21 seconds left as GU fell, 15-4.
The Golden Knights will stay on site for the final day of the invite on Sunday, competing against Bucknell at 10:40 AM and Mount St. Mary's (Md) at 12:40 PM.
