SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The Gannon women's basketball team opened conference play in convincing fashion on Saturday afternoon, using a strong defensive performance and a pivotal second quarter to defeat Shepherd 68–51 at Butcher Athletic Center. The Golden Knights outscored the Rams 23–7 in the second period and shot a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the quarter to push their lead to double digits, improving to 9–1 overall.

Kate Rolls Along - Kate Ratliff (Canal Winchester, Ohio/Canal Winchester) led all scorers with 14 points, adding nine rebounds and three steals, and finished 4-for-4 at the line.
