ERIE, PA - In the first game of the D2 CCA Tip-Off Classic, (RV) Ferris State opened up an early lead to race past (#4) North Georgia, 68-59 at the Highmark Events Center. 

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 20-7 lead at the end of the first quarter and were up by five at the break after the Nighthawks cut into the gap just before the break. North Georgia would take a lead late in the third, but a 20-12 fourth quarter was enoguh to seal the win for Ferris State. 

Mia Riley led all scorers with 20 points, adding seven boards. Kadyn Blanchard, named the Player of the Game, collected 19 points and eight rebounds. 

North Georgia was paced by Caroline Martin (17 pts) and Hannah Cail (13 pts).

The D2 CCA Women's Basketball Tip-Off Classic continues tomorrow at the Highmark Events Center.
