THE KNIGHT CAP

  • Offensive Success: The Golden Knights racked up 99 total points on opening night, continuing their strong offensive play from the previous two seasons. Falling just shy of the 100 point mark, the Golden Knights put up 56 in the second half, outscoring Bowie State by 15 in the final 20 minutes. Gannon eclipsed the 100 point plateau seven times in 2024-25.
  • Rebound Dominance: GU was impressive on the glass, out rebounding Bowie State 55-22 on Friday night.
  • Playing With Pace: Sophomore guard Pace Prosser (Berlin, Pa./Berlin Brothersvalley) led the Golden Knights on the evening, continuing his impressive start to his collegiate career. Prosser tallied 26 points and chipped in three assists and five steals along the way.
  • Double Figures: Prosser was one of four Gannon players to score ten plus points on Friday night.
Mackenzie Morgan (Sydney, Australia/Marist Catholic College North Shore), Lucas Morgan (Sydney, Australia/Marist Catholic College North Shore) and Precious Idiaru (Speyer, Germany/LA Premier Prep) all went into double figures in their Gannon debuts.
  • Behind the Stripe: GU put the ball up from distance a bevy of times, shooting just shy of 30% (13-44) from three point range. That tied the school record for 3-pointers attempted in a game. Defensively, Gannon held Bowie State to just 4-16 from beyond the stripe.
  • Depth Showcasing: 12 players got into the game on Friday night. All but three Gannon players that saw minutes factored onto the score sheet in the win.
  • Defensive Grit: As per usual under head coach Easton Bazzoli, Gannon was a force on the defensive side of the ball, forcing 24 turnovers and notching 15 steals in the win.
