ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon volleyball team ran its winning streak to six matches on Saturday and once again it was in impressive fashion. The Golden Knights won in three games over Pitt-Johnstown at the Highmark Events Center prevailing by scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 25-16.
The Golden Knights are now 11-4 overall and 3-0 in PSAC West action. The last four wins have come in three games as Gannon posted a weekend sweep over 2024 NCAA playoff teams IUP and UPJ. The Mountain Cats dipped to 11-4 and tasted defeat in the conference for the first time at 3-1.

- Down Goes Another NCAA Playoff Team from 2024: Gannon has now played five of the other seven teams they saw in the 2024 NCAA Div. II Atlantic Regional. The Golden Knights made it a sweep of playoff entrants IUP and UPJ this weekend, both in three games.
- You Can't Hit with Us: The Golden Knights owned a .269 hitting percentage on the day while UPJ came in at just .124, Gannon also ruled the net with seven blocks compared to two for the Mountain Cats.
- Balanced Attack: Nehir Yazicioglu turned in another strong showing finishing with 15 kills and an impressive .464 hitting percentage. She added nine digs. Sydney Wake hit .500 on her way to a 13-kill effort.
- Williams on the Defensive: Freshman Abbey Williams (Chicago, Ill./Mother Mcauley Liberal Arts) led an impressive defensive effort with 11 digs. Bengisu Arslan (Ankara, Turkey/Private Çankaya Doga Anatolian) joined Yazicioglu with nine digs. The Gannon setter continued her climb in the career assists records adding 37 to her total.
- Home Court Advantage: Gannon moved to 4-0 at the Highmark Events Center this season.
