Golden Knights See Winning Streak over Edinboro Come to an End

THE GAME FACTS
Final Score: Edinboro 41, Gannon 20
Records: Gannon (1-7, 1-3 PSAC West), Edinboro (4-4, 3-1 PSAC West)
Location: McConnell Family Stadium, Erie, Pa.
Date: October 25, 2025

ERIE, Pa. – Ty Hurst (Tallmadge, Ohio/Tallmadge) threw for two touchdowns and ran for a third and Tristen Kenan (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar) finished with a season-high 100 yards rushing but it wasn't enough on Saturday as Edinboro handed Gannon a 41-20 defeat at McConnell Family Stadium. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak over the Fighting Scots as the Golden Knights are now 1-7 overall and 1-3 in the PSAC West.

The victory bolstered the surprising Fighting Scots into a first-place tie with Indiana (Pa.) in the Western Division.

Gannon held a 14-7 lead midway through the second quarter before Edinboro ran off 27 straight points, bolstered by a pair of interceptions and a lost fumble. In addition, a bad snap on a punt led to another short field for the Fighting Scots. They took advantage to score a touchdown with just 10 seconds remaining in the half for a 21-14 lead.

THE KNIGHT CAP
  • The Good and the Bad for Hurst: Gannon welcomed Ty Hurst (Tallmadge, Ohio/Tallmadge) back after the redshirt sophomore missed last week's game with an injury. He would account for three touchdowns – two through the air and one on a short run – but was also guilty of three turnovers. Hurst completed 15-of-25 passes for 204 yards with 2 TDs and 2 INTs but was harassed all day and lost a fumble while being sacked four times.
  • Getting Thin at Wide Receiver: Injuries have thinned out Gannon's wide receiving corps. Starting wide receivers Donell "Tank" Mason and Andrew Kuban (Pittsburgh, Pa./Avonworth) have both missed multiple games of late and another starting wideout – Zaheem Crawford Patterson – limped off early in the game and did not return. Freshman Damario Moore (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) enjoyed another big game with a team-leading five receptions for 96 yards, including a 21-yard touchdown reception.
  • Moore Electric as Return Man:  Though just a freshman and not even weighing 170 lbs. Damario Moore (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) has emerged as one of the top return men in the PSAC. He brought back five kickoffs for 133 yards with a long of 40 yards and had another long return wiped out by a penalty. Moore has now returned 24 kickoffs for 630 yards, a 26.3 yard average. He ranks tenth in season kickoff returns and is fifth in return yards with.
  • Special K Hits the Century Mark: Tristen Kenan (Baltimore, Md./Dunbar) finished with a season-high 100 yards rushing on 15 carries, his second career 100-yard effort. The sophomore also had a 100-yard game while playing at Maine in 2023. Kenan added three receptions for 20 yards.
  • Duncan Scores First TD: Gannon took the opening kickoff and drove 75 yards in eight plays to take a 7-0 lead. The drive ended with the first career touchdown reception for Blaine Duncan (Hickory, N.C./Fred T. Foard). The senior tight end, in his first season after transferring from Lenoir Rhyne, was wide open in the right flat for a three-yard TD reception. It was his fourth catch of the season.
