The Gannon volleyball team delivered a balanced and resilient performance on Friday night, earning a four-set victory over Erie rival Edinboro. After a slow opening frame, the Golden Knights settled in and controlled the final three sets to stay undefeated in PSAC West play.
Three Golden Knights reached double figures in kills as Gannon capitalized on key late-set swings to complete its second straight season sweep of Edinboro.
With the win, Gannon moved to 17–4 overall and 8–0 in PSAC West play, tightening its grip on first place in the division, while Edinboro fell to 9–10 overall and 4–4 in league play.
"What a fun match in a competitive environment! We are very happy to get a win, especially since Edinboro came out on fire and pushed us out of system at will in the early stages of the match. I have to give credit to Kasey for giving us a spark and to Abbey and Bengisu for clutch play down the stretch. Road wins are like gold, and we'll value this one," said head coach
Matt Darling.
