BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Gannon women's volleyball team put it all together in its first match of the D'Youville Tournament on Friday evening as it swept Ursuline College.

Senior right side hitter
Hailey Koch (Littleton, Col./Dakota Ridge) led Gannon with 10 kills, and sophomore middle blocker
Lauren Atwell (Mars, Pa./Mars Area) added nine as Gannon claimed a 25-17, 25-11, 25-18 sweep at D'Youville's Saints Center. Gannon evened its record at 3-3 as Ursuline dropped to 0-5.

Bengisu Arslan (Ankara, Turkey/Private Çankaya Doga Anatolian) dished out 30 assists, and senior libero
Emma Hall (Lowell, Mich./Lowell) compiled 21 digs.

"Tonight's performance was exactly what I was hoping for," Gannon head coach
Matt Darling said. "The team was focused and played with good energy. Everyone did her part, so this feels like a total team win."

Gannon will play twice on Saturday as it meets host D'Youville at noon and Rollins College at 6 p.m.

What happened:

Gannon controlled the match against Ursuline from the outset as Koch picked up six kills and Atwell had four during Gannon's win in the first set.
Â
After the second set was tied 2-2, Gannon went on a 23-9 run to take the set 25-11.
Â
The third set was tied 11-11 before the Golden Knights outscored Ursuline 14-7 the rest of the way to seal the match.

Gannon had 11 aces in the match as Arslan and sophomore outside hitter
Carissa Treser (Sewickley, Pa./North Allegheny) recorded four aces each.

Koch had an outstanding .714 hitting percentage with 10 kills and no errors on 14 attacks. Atwell was right behind with a .615 percentage as she recorded nine kills with one error on 13 attacks.

Gannon outhit Ursuline .309Â to .067 as GU had just 10 attack errors in the match to Ursuline's 19.

Atwell had four total blocks as GU finished with seven blocks to Ursuline's two.

Grace Van Niel led Ursuline with 10 kills.
