ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon women's volleyball team will go back on the road this weekend after winning its home opener on Wednesday.

Coach Matt Darling's Golden Knights rallied for a four-set victory over a solid Ashland team on Wednesday evening at Cathedral Prep's Hagerty Family Events Center. Gannon will now travel to Buffalo, N.Y., where it will play three matches over two days in the D'Youville Tournament, beginning with a matchup against Ursuline College (0-4) on Friday evening.

The Knights are in the midst of opening the season with road games in 11 of their first 12 matches and 16 of their first 18 matches. After playing four matches in the PSAC-MEC Crossover on Sept. 19-21, Gannon will return home on Sept. 27 against IUP.

Gannon enters this weekend with a 2-3 record after going 1-3 at the highly competitive Oredigger Classic in Colorado to open the season.
