Gannon Athletics takes lead in PSAC's Dixon Trophy all-sports standings through fall seasons

Golden Knights have won two titles and finished as runner-up in past three seasons

The Gannon University Athletic Department leads the PSAC's Dixon Trophy all-sports standings through the fall seasons of the 2024-25 competition.

Over the past three academic/athletic years, Gannon has won two Dixon Trophy titles and finished a close second place in 2023-24.

The Dixon Trophy standings award athletic programs points based on their teams' finishes in the PSAC championships. Champions are awarded 17 points for first place, 16 for second … and so on. However, if a sport has fewer than 17 teams, the points are prorated based on the number of teams.

Gannon had an average of 13.21 points per sport in the fall to lead the PSAC's 17 teams. East Stroudsburg ranks second with a 12.86 average and Kutztown is third with 11.75.

The Gannon men's programs lead the PSAC with an average of 13.63, while GU  ranks third among women's programs with a 12.67 average.

Gannon had an outstanding fall season highlighted by the men's golf team's domination in winning the program's first PSAC championship and gaining 17 points. Gannon received PSAC runner-up finishes from volleyball (16 points) and men's soccer (15), while the women's soccer team placed third (15), and the men's cross country team finished fifth (12). The football team (10.5) and women's cross country team (7) rounded out GU's fall scoring.

Dixon Trophy standings will be released after the winter seasons before the final standings are announced in May.

Gannon won its first Dixon Trophy title in 2021-22 and then repeated in 2022-23. The Golden Knights finished a close second to Slippery Rock in 2023-24.
