Matt Darling's Gannon volleyball team enters the final weekend of the regular season knowing that it already has clinched the PSAC West regular-season title and home quarterfinal game on Tuesday.
The Golden Knights will visit California on Friday night and Slippery Rock on Saturday afternoon. For both the Vulcans and The Rock, this will be the final match of the season. In addition, SRU will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday.
Saturday's match will be a historic one for The Rock. It will be the final match in the 40-year coaching career of Laurie Lokash, who announced her retirement on Thursday. She has 676 victories in her career.
Gannon enters the weekend with a 19-6 overall record and an 11-1 mark it the PSAC West. The Golden Knights learned on Wednesday that they are the No. 1-ranked team in the Atlantic Region, which bodes well for Gannon's NCAA Tournament hopes and/or seeding.
